Because he's with PBC and they want him to win to match him up with Wilder for the WBC Belt.

Problem is is Ruiz right now is fat as *** 275 lbs right now...

This is a good fight but I see Andy Ruiz being too fresh and too quick for Ortiz at this stage of his career. Ortiz is correct, this is his last rodeo, if he loses to Ruiz he will never be in the main event scene again.

Really? He let himself go again? This man is hopeless.

Weighting on the weigh in. If Ruiz comes in like 250 or under I definitely favour Ruiz. If Ruiz is 265 or more I'm favouring Ortiz. If Ruiz is 251-264 I'm uncertain. On the site there have been loads of comments that were, like, 'Oh, Andy just is a fat guy, it doesn't affect him'. The idea is that you move around a ring for 12 3-minute rounds, throwing punches & attempting to avoid the other guy's punches. How is being clinically obese not going to affect your performance? That makes literally no sense at all. I remember the 80s & a lot of the guys were equally porcine. Tony Tubbs, Tim Witherspoon, Michael Dokes, Greg Page were all getting in the ring 20-40ib overweight. When Tyson came along it pretty much ended the era of porcine guys because he almost killed Tubbs & Evander put it on Dokes in a fearsome fight. After that H/Ws tended to be in great shape for a long time. Now we're back with Ruiz. It just doesn't make any sense to say that carrying (say) 30ib excess won't affect his stamina or reflexes. It will, it must do.

If Ruiz is 275 then I got Ortiz 100%. Ortiz got some skills & he gonna have a LOT to aim at.

Ortiz' ring walk is intended to get him buzzing to the sounds of his youth, so its between 'Cake Walking Babies Back Home' by Louis Armstrong or 'St James Infirmary' by Sidney Bechet.

Nash likes this fight but can't help but feel that Ortiz is rushing into this a bit too soon. I'd like to see him develop for a few more years, hit his prime, and then take a fight like this in 3-4 years time. Shouldn't be rushing this young lion. The courageous Rigondeaux was rushed and pressured into fighting Loma far too soon, and that was the end of him. It would be sad to see this be the case for Ortiz, with so many great boxing years (10-15) potentially still in front of him. Nash out.
