By abdicating the Ring and lineal titles again and then winning them back he'll join Muhammad Ali as the only other three time champion.

No he can't. You can only lose your lineal title in the ring. He's only a one-time lineal champion.

False. You lose your title when you retire. Otherwise Lennox Lewis could unretire tomorrow and claim to be the lineal heavyweight champion.

This is why Crawford is not the lineal welterweight champion. Floyd retired, then a new lineage began when Manny Pacquiao beat Tim Bradley in April 2016 to crown a new champion. Then Pacquiao retired three days later, vacating the title. Then Pacquiao returned six months later to fight Vargas, but he was no longer considered champion. Then Jeff Horn beat (robbed) Pacquiao, then Crawford beat Horn. But nobody considered Horn the lineal champion because of the Pacquiao retirement, and therefore Crawford did not win the lineal championship when he beat Horn. The lineal title remains vacant and will be decided by Crawford vs Spence, if it ever happens.

The same thing happened with Joe Louis. He retired as lineal champion in 1949, then unretired in 1950 and fought Ezzard Charles. But Louis was not considered champion any longer and it was considered a vacant title fight when Charles beat him.
