I’ve always thought he should sit down on his punches more. Since we have seen his chin fail and recovery powers absent, perhaps he needs to work more on head movement and a bit less of the foot movement. Solve two problems with one stone.
additionally, he needs a real trainer

The stamina issue is what I really don’t get. Whenever I see a boxer get winded or tire out in a fight, I just lose respect for them. I can still be a fan but a little respect is lost.

How can a pro boxer with a team of highly paid strength & conditioning coach, nutritionist, professional sparring partners, world class trainer etc get tired during a fight? Not to mention, they get paid millions and only fight two or three times a year.
I’m a Karate practitioner and 5 weeks before tournaments, I do 12 round heavy bag (punches and kicks) and 5 miles roadwork every day. I have never gotten winded during a fight. And I’m a nobody in the grand scheme of things. I don’t get paid, I don’t have a team of pros behind me. I just love what I do.

Not as good as he thinks? He’s one of if not the fastest in the division. He took one of the best into the 11th round and made an outstanding showing of himself in that fight. Canelo was just better. Agree he is hard to root against.

I think maybe his body fat is too low, he looks to have no energy stores at all. Which may mean he needs to move up and stop draining himself. He loves clean and doesn’t blow up and from what I have seen of his training his S&C coach has him doing a lot of power training which is the right way. But to be honest being ripped to the bone isn’t always what you want for a 12 round fight. Holyfield could do it but he didn’t have to make weight as a heavyweight.

I agree as well, watching the fight with Uzcategui I remember thinking if this had been 15 rounds Plant would have been knocked down or stopped.

I understand how underwhelming this fight can seem,
but Caleb is coming off a loss and a near year layoff.
Andre is a decent choice under the circumstances.

He does have a point, almost all time greats have lost decisions or been stopped. These younger clowns are scared to even take the risk of one loss so they avoid competition to save that 0. Not realizing they are no Mayweather. That is only one of the reasons the sport is going downhill.

Nobody knows what these PBC fighters are waiting for. They're healthy and available.
Jermall, Lara, Plant, Benavidez, Derevyanchenko, Morrell, even Dirrell is being ducked by Plant.

They're in the same house, street, uncle....

Ali was never knocked out. Not a fan of Ali, but facts are facts.
