These threads always pop up after every big fight. It never fails. If Tyson fought Buster Douglas in this day and age there would be a thread saying he's a shot fighter.

      That's a valid point.

Moving up from featherweight to lightweight first, and then from lightweight to welterweight had an effect on his speed.

But he's age 36 and has been through a lot of wars, so we should factor that in as well.

          Perhaps he could fight Bradley.

I don't like the idea of him being in with a big puncher like Maidana or Ortiz.

He is not shot he is just punching above his desired weight (no pun intended). Lightweight is as far as he should go imo.

It always cracks me up how the fair weather fans always jump ship after a fighter gets beat!!!

There is no way JMM is a shot fighter!!! I wanted Juan to win this fight and i think he put up one hell of a fight to go the distance with a much bigger fighter!!! He earns respect for taking this challenge no doubt!!!

I am not so sure about him being shot yet.....I want to wait until his next fight at a lower weight before making that kind of determination. You many turn out to be right Tunney, but I hope not. I really want to see him get a great win after this.

I don't think he's shot unless the fight with Mayweather makes him shot, he's past his best and slowing down though, the extra weight just made it more apparent.

I thought his speed work for this fight showed up. As in, he was fast enough to explode on Mayweather with a good shot or a combo in those few instances when Floyd let himself get complacent.

I don't think he's shot, but the thing is getting back down from the 140's to a weight he'd want to ply his trade at. I hope that doesn't hurt him.
