Canelo's resume is such that he can do whatever he wants at this point. He has earned his stripes.

Win or lose he already has a legacy he can be proud of, even if he were to retire right this minute. Anything else he accomplishes from here on out is just icing on the cake.

In case you haven't noticed, I didn't say one thing abut Charlo. I saw the ridiculous thread title and posted something that's far more interesting. Something that you would never acknowledge. Your hero having no interest in avenging his loss. Instead he chooses a far past it Golovkin years after he should have fought him a 3rd time. Of course at that time he had no interest in a rematch. But with Golovkin at 40 and looking it, suddenly the rematch is attractive to him.

Canelo took the fight with Bivol because Bivol was not impressive in his previous two fights. Ooops. No mention of ever fighting the guy largely regarded as number 1 in Beterbiev. But no problems fighting a shot Kovalev. Didn't want a unification at 154 when Andrade was champion. Didn't want to fight his mandatory when it was Charlo but fought Yildirim. Conveniently wanted to unify at 168 as soon as Benavidez didn't have a belt.


Your hero is overrated and wants no part of Benavidez or a rematch with Bivol.Yet still wants to hold all of his belts at 168. I can't think of any truly great fighters that found a way to duck a rematch with the fighters that beat them. He also has no interest in fighting Ramirez if he beats Bivol.That's weak as hell and apparently I'm not the only one that sees through Canelo's BS. He will never be included with the upper echelon of all time great fighters.



By the way, if Charlo is ever regarded as number 1 pound for pound like Canelo was and is, then we can compare Charlo.
