You make fair criticisms of some of the comments, but I will say this:

If it’s true that they initially approached him for money, prior to going public, and he refused to pay, that does lend to his credibility. I think we now know that cash in exchange for NDAs is a very very common thing with celebrities, and it looks like he had the opportunity to go this route and didn’t. Any lawyer or financial adviser worth their salt probably would have advised him to go this route if there was any real smoke.

Some possible alternate explanations for him not paying, besides his innocence, would be:

- he did it but is in complete and total denial of any wrongdoing

- he did it, but the sum of money they were asking for was simply too enormous.

Overall, to me the most likely scenario based on how
little we know, is that there may not be any real smoke. I think heavyweight training camps in the 70s were basically giant orgies.

I query your last point, though. While I couldn’t say whether ‘HW training camps’ were ‘giant orgies’ or not, you at least have to be old enough to consent to such, and ages 15 and 16 cannot do so.

Ofc, there’s no guarantee that, even is such events did take place, they took place at these ages, nor were non-consensual.

But assuming the age is correct, it’s illegal, regardless of whether anyone was up for a giant orgy, or whatever.

No, you are making a valid and well-reasoned point. The best thing to do at this stage is to remain on-the-fence-agnostic. But unless there were similar accusations directed at Foreman in 70s-80s, the court of public opinion is unlikely to judge him harshly now. And I highly doubt they'll present any kind of credible evidence. Let it play out, but I doubt it will result in anything. Ultimately, as a counter to your point, there are money-grabbing a$$holes too and we have no basis right now to differentiate between a victim and an a$$hole.

Funny story about how Foreman go involved with the grill. There’s a marketing company and they are looking for products for Foreman and Hulk Hogan to market. They called Hogan first, but his wife answered. They had two things to market, a grill, and a smoothie blender. The wife figured since Hulk is into fitness he will do the blender. Then they called George and he got the grill. The blender ended up not even making it to stores.
