It's not like he beat Marquez by bombing him out or smothering him did he? He nailed him with shots, made him miss and outboxed him. His skills and speed won him the fight. The bottom line is, once people saw how much bigger he was they were going to scream what people were already saying before the fight was even signed, that the size difference was too much. I think PBF already knew this, and took the fight anyway because he felt he would win and it was a payday he needed. By signing the fight, he willingly subjected himself and his fans to the reaction that was bound to ensue, because money is all he's really about anyway. My point is, it would never have mattered how he won the fight, he put himself in a no-win situation because it was a gimmy fight that would help him straighten his financial situation out, I don't think he cared much how he won the fight a long as he kept his "0" and I doubt he cares much about how the fans feel either.Comment

Many people are going to make emotional reactions right now, but to anyone who looks at this from an objective position, it was clearly his size and speed that won him the fight.
You could see time after time where Marquez came forward with combinations but hit nothing but air, not because of Floyds outstanding defense (which it was last night) but because Floyd was able to keep him WAY outside the range from which he can effectively punch.
When Floyd misjudged his distance and stayed within Marquez range, Marqeuz was about to get some good counter-punching done.
Personally, I have felt that Marquez was past his best after seeing what hell Diaz gave him for the first part of their fight, and this was on display last night as he was having trouble getting out of the way of Floyd's punches. His reflexes have obviously dulled in recent fights. Regardless, his timing seemed to be quite good as is evidence by many of the counters he did throw, but he simply was not big enough to make any of it matter.
Marquez needs to be able to get his Jab established to win a fight, and even at 135 against Diaz, he was having trouble getting the range to do that. At 147, he didn't even have a chance with his jab usually falling a good 5 to 6 inches short.
In summary, Floyd won because of size. Not to say had skilled been a factor he wouldn't have still won, because he most likely would have, but last night, skill didn't become a factor. It was simply his size and speed that defeated Marquez.Comment

Floyd beat Marquez with SKILLS. Anyothe who says otherwise is an irrational hater. He beat him by counterpunching and picking him off while backing away and not taking unessary risks. His strength did not play a part.
People like you are so hypocritical. You knock Floyd for not KOing Marquez, but when he beats him with skill all of a sudden it was because he was bigger? Can't you see the contradiction in this? If Floyd would've went for the KO, then you'd be ****ting on him for "cheating" by overpowering the smaller man, but as it turns out, he's criticized for not KOing the smaller man.
Which one is it? Would you have preferred he pressured Marquez and KO him, and then diss him for beating JMM with size instead of skill, or would you rather have him defeat JMM with skill and then attack him for not being able to KO the smaller man?Comment
