Nonsense statement by Barry. AJ and Woods have not had similar careers at all.
Muhammad Ali was the biggest thing ever in boxing 60 years ago!
I believe he meant that the timing of their accents in their respective sports breathed new life into that which was otherwise on the wane. Tiger revived golf, AJ boxing, in UK at least.
    Not everything is about race.

Respect to AJ, but he didn't do for boxing what Tiger Woods did for golf, a silly comparison.

Yes, Barry Hearn would've felt like they stole something, because Usyk clearly won, if closer than the first fight, certainly.

It certainly would have been a robbery if Joshua won. People would have called for a trilogy and that’s what we would probably be seeing next rather than the much anticipated Undisputed fight. Thank god 2 of the judges got it right.

I think he meant AJ did for the Hearn’s bank balance what Tiger Woods did for golf’s

I’m confused..how exactly is AJ like tiger woods? Woods was the greatest of his generation maybe the greatest of all time. He broke down invisible colour barriers in a time when people thought they no longer existed. AJ was an overated boxer not even best from his own country wtf lol

Well he’s obviously talking about commercial impact, not ethnicity, but I couldn’t tell you enough about golf to tell you if the impact’s actually comparable.

Ask this, instead: if boxing back into the main******, or not?

If the latter, then how much impact has AJ actually had?

I listened to this on the buncy bbc pod where buncy had tantrum child 7-5, experts huh. Anyway every interview including barry, buncy was put in his place about his score as everyone else had it 7-5 8-4 Usyk.

And that's why we have three judges. Boxing scoring will always be pretty different when you have different styles and close rounds.

To get 7-5 Joshua you have to score every close round to him. That means you've got 7-2 Joshua going into the 10th. It's pretty hard to defend that but if 'you like a certain style' it's possibly understandable at least. I'm assuming that's how the US judge saw it - US judges have a history of scoring for the guy coming forward and pressing the fight.

It was funny during the course of that pod listening to Bunce gradually come to the realisation that he was in a very small minority in scoring for Joshua. I think he was too embarrassed to even do the last interview.

Personally I had 7-5 Usyk but can understand there being a range of scores. On average most seem to have 7-5 or 8-4 Usyk. Except on here where the majority are adamant Joshua barely won a couple of rounds.

Round 9 was crazy. You could tell within 20 seconds of Rd 10 that AJ had punched himself out trying to stop Usyk. Oleksandr is a generational talent.

AJ certainly has not had the affect in boxing that Woods had on golf.I cannot even remember the last time boxing was covered by main****** sports channels, the only time boxing gets a mention is if their is a major scandal.
