People say that cotto would be bigger than JMM when he fights Floyd. Of course he is and it will be no problem, Oscar outweighed floyd by a good 10-15 pounds, utilized his jab but still got outboxed.
Been saying it for the past year or so, cotto will lose to Floyd.Comment

Yeah if Floyd would just fight the top 3 welters it would solve his problems. I doubt he will do it as he seems more interested in money than glory. Cotto couldnt even outbox Margarito and I think hes on the decline since that fight, and hes slow and he has lousy defense so I agree Floyd would bea him but it would probably be a good fight.Comment

I wouldn't say Oscars skills in 2007 are up to par with Miguels. I think Miguel could get inside and make his dents into May and have a great shot at winning. What I don't buy is that jab statement. May does not have a great jab and I doubt it would deter Miguel. Another thing I do notice is Mayweather getting stuck against the ropes even against a smaller man and that would be a key advantage for Miguel because Mayweather is not strong enough to shoulder his way out of that against a guy like Shane or Miguel. What I can buy is Mayweather keeping it in the center and outclassing Miguel with speed, I could see that. I think Miguel would win the fight but I also could see Miguel looking a lot like Gatti. Its a toss up in my eyes.Comment

Odds are stacked against Cotto. Cotto is really more of a counter-puncher than he is a stalker in the mold of Chavez, Frazier. And obviously, Cotto ain't gonna beat Floyd in the counter-punching game.
And another key point and maybe the one that really determines how this fight is gonna play out, is the footwork, I mean it's probably Cotto's major liabilityLast edited by We want Floyd; 09-20-2009, 06:33 PM.Comment
