  • Comments Thread For: Shields: After I Beat 'Fluke' Marshall, The Doubters Better Apologize!

IBF, WBC, WBA middleweight champion Claressa "G.W.O.A.T." Shields believes her 2012 amateur defeat at the hands of WBO champion, Savannah Marshall, was fluke. They will settle the score in the pros, on Saturday, September 10 from The O2 in London.

Per boxrec, the last 2 women Marshall fought (& KO'd) are 31-3 with 0 KO losses apart from the Marshall fights ... if we stretch to the last 4 women that Marshall fought (and KO'd) it's 61-14 with 0 KO losses apart from the Marshall fights.

Yeah, she fought a couple bums early in her career, but that's pretty normal. That doesn't mean she'll beat Shields again, obviously, but this particular complaint doesn't hold water.

They won't, they will just keep hating. But thats OK, Claressa needs to embrace the hate and celebrate, stunt and provoke the smoke, it's fun.

Marshalls power is LEGIT, but she is patient and can wait for opportunities.

Against someone like Claressa, would lacks power, she may need to walk her down more, otherwise Claressa will box circles around her and she'll be just be looking and waiting for that money punch. She may land it, she'll only need to land one, but I'd like to see her try and rough up and batter the boxer to improve her chances.

After she beats Marshall, everyone will claim that Marshall was never any good from the start as they did with the Hammer. Then create another boogieman...

The problem with what Claressa is saying is that she basically buried herself.

There's no reason she shouldn't have been able to knock out the girls she fought. But she didn't.

Everyone wants to talk about her Olympic gold medals. **** I guess Lomachenko is the mens goat since we’re including amateur accomplishments.

Clarissa should be happy she has an opponent like this that she can make decent money on.

someone tell her thats how boxing works, u have to hype people up to generate interest, she cant do it herself so stop complaining when others do it for her, she has gone overseas because she cant get paid at home

Sorry not going to apologize! Women's boxing hasn't evolved enough for there to be any such thing as a GOAT yet!
