  • Eubank Junior's fight is not against Conor Benn. It is against the catch weight of 156 pounds, and the re-hydration clause 'That is the big challenge for him here'.

Conor Benn is a exciting fighter, he is doing well. But he does not in my opinion, pose a fully conditioned Eubank Junior at 160 pounds a major threat.

Eubank Junior is a extremely strong fighter physically. Not the biggest power puncher, but he is very strong physically. Carl Froch remarked on this strength, when they trained and sparred together for Groves II 'The catch weight, and re-hydration clause is going to have a affect upon these strengths'.

I have no idea how Eubank Junior will navigate this catch weight and re-hydration clause. And I find it very strange, the way people both fans and even some boxing people are just choosing deliberately to ignore all of this etc.

I am interested in the fight, but disappointed in the catch weight.

Lol nice deflection at least you are admitting that Benn is ducking.
Probably best win is James degale. I'm not saying he's an elite fighter. But his record is better than Avanesyan. Who has he beat. So I'm still stating facts when I say Eubank is the bigger fight.

Avanesyan took the 0's of 2 undefeated prospects by KO. He is also the EBU champion and if you are counting Eubanks dull performance against DeGale then we can count Ava's victory over Sugar Shane Mosley as well since they were both past it. Didn't DeGale retire right after that fight?

I'm not in disagreement that the fight is bigger in terms of popularity but Avanesyan was willing to fight and Benn didn't want it.

Lol Eubank has taken a few prospects O's also. Yes Avanesyan has won the European title. And good for him. But he's about to make his 6th defence of it against his 3rd Spanish fighter. He's sure cleaned out their elite WWs lol. His last fight he beat a lumberjack from Finland. They say his best win is Josh Kelly. An overrated poser, if ever I saw one. He pulled out of a final eliminator against Ortiz jr to take a nice safe European title defence. Where's the ambition in that. He's had one less fight than Eubank. You'd have thought he might have squeezed a world title shot in there. Eubank has. Eubank has been in with better opposition in George Groves and BJS. Yes he lost but he was competitive in those fights. Avanesyan has lost to Lamont Peterson lol, and got destroyed by Kava. No wonder he didn't want to fight Ortiz jr, considering he beat Kava. Mate look. I've been honest here. I don't like the Eubank fight. I'm not comfortable with him giving away the weight. And the Avanesyan fight would be my no1 pick for Benn. But I'm just being Honest and realistic here. Eubank is the bigger fight. In popularity yes, but also it's the better proven scalp. Wether Benn collects that scalp is an entirely different matter.

Nobody can deny that wins against Liam Williams and James Degale are not solid wins.

They both come to win, Eubank Junior beat them. Those were big fights.

Eubank Junior has fought at a decent level, won some fights and lost some fights.

And he was always competitive. Eubank Junior would of beaten Groves if that fight was a 15 round fight.

Groves was hanging on in the latter rounds.

no ****, genius - it's not rocket science. Doesn't do anything for boxing enthusiasts who pay money to go to these shams. Are you his girlfriend? What does his pay have to do with you?

Yeah. I'm not saying Eubank is massively better on paper than Avanesyan. But his resume is still stronger. He's fought a higher competition level. In terms of that it's a good step up for Benn. I just struggle to get my head around the weight issue.

                • People lying to themselves about Eubank being drained vs an unproven pint-size welterweight who isn't bigger and doesn't punch any hard than Regis Prograis at 140. Eubank fought at 160. What is the lowest pre-fight weigh-in if anyone remembers? This is Broner vs Porter at 144 2.0. Watch the board after the fight. Same people talking about Benn's midget welterweight punch will be crying and calling Hearn after Eubank beats this dude up.

It's like Lubin saying I don't like how my body feels when I cut back to 147 but I'm ok after the rehydration but I can still make 147.

Has Chris Eubank Junior ever fought at 156 pounds before? And there is a re hydration clause, which held up the announcement of the fight.

People are not lying. They are being honest.

Eubank Junior is a 160 pound fighter, who only recently came back down to 160 pounds. He has been fighting at 168 pounds for a long period of time in his career.

Not matter what you think, the catch weight is going to have a effect on Eubank Junior's training.

That is his challenge here, the catch weight and the re-hydration clause. Otherwise, I don't think Conor Benn is much of a threat under normal circumstances.

                    • I what happens if he (Eubank Jr) doesn't make the weight? Will Benn still go ahead with the fight?
