DAZN have just announced the WORST PPV of all time

They have just announced KSI vs Swarmz as a PPV event at the end of this month. Yes, I have no clue who swarmz is either so I searched it up and it’s some rapper who is actually KSIs friend and makes music with him. And he’s never had a fight before. So KSI vs his friend who has never fought before is PPV boxing on DAZN.

This is PPV, so you have to pay for this on top of your normal monthly subscription.

DAZN went from ‘absolutely no PPV at all’ ‘we will not do ppv you have our word’ ‘PPV is dead’ to then saying ‘only the BIG BIG massive fights will be PPV’ to now announcing the worst PPV ever in the history of boxing, and yes this is included in boxing as it’s a pro boxing event with pro boxing fights.

    GAME CHANGED.

The world of sports is tacky these days, all of them. You only have to look at what has happened to Formula 1.

Boxing at elite level is not really about prestige anymore, that is what set it apart from other combat sports.

I have of late been watching fights from a decade to two decades ago. And HBO productions were all about prestige.

Jim Lampley said it best 'When he put on that suit to work for HBO, he knew that he had reached the top'.

I don't think it would be the to today working for Sky Sports, DAZN or whoever. Very tacky. Presenters wearing casual clothes. And chatting utter crap.

It is because people cater to lemmings or people who are not really hardcore fans of anything.

Fernando Alonso has recently came out and stated in a article that, Formula one has no culture these days.

The new fans don't know or seem to want to learn about the intricacies of the sport. It is all about watching edited reality TV shows and just watching the race.

All these fans which boxing and other sports cater to, are not really fans they will come and go.

It's not championship boxing. They can announce PPV wet t shirt contests for all the relevance this has to the sport.

          No I don't.

I wouldn't watch it for free, never mind pay for it.

It's targeting a completely different viewership than me (and presumably you).

KSI is one of the top 5 stars in boxing now so his return is a big deal.

Him vs Jake is the biggest fight that can be made in boxing.

I have no problem with youtubers fighting but its clear DAZN is not in a good way. Appear to be under a bit of a cash crunch.

I remember when people were claiming DAZN is good for boxing.

That isn't Boxing. They ain't trying to sell that to us, that is a circus show for the casuals. Neither of them are Boxers.

If there's money to be made, people will try to make it. I've never understood the appeal of these youtubers but if other people want to watch them or spend their money on them, that's their choice.
