I said he should have stripped. The WBA has been forcing a title reduction which is good.

But he still has the title and is getting 75%. If he didn't have the title, then he wouldn't be getting a split he doesn't deserve. What part of that are you not understanding? With the split, Wood is getting f3cked over with the money. Nothing is good about either situation.

Both should get what they're worth and the fight made to clear out the phony titles. But no, you and many others, don't want that. You just want to be spiteful.

In order to not go to purse bid, Eddie would match his biggest payday. By going to purse bid at only 25% and being f3cked over, Eddie would have to bid an awful lot to get the fight and pay Leo double or more what his biggest payday was. Eddie isn't going to pay Wood peanuts and a lot less than his last two fights with a bigger fight on the line. That doesn't make sense.

I guess Hearn is gonna have to think hard about his next move. Does he risk overpaying LSC to get this fight on DAZN in the UK, or does he let Wood get underpaid and face LSC in the U.S.?

Personally, I think Hearn should put an offer that's reasonable for Wood, let the chips fall where they may. It's an entertaining match-up on paper, and LSC has a bit of name recognition with the UK fans due to his fights with Frampton. Most importantly, LSC is not unbeatable and Wood is on a roll. Wood has earned some faith from Matchroom given his performances against Xu and Conlan.

The WBA need to have other promoters have fighters with regular titles so as not to look too dodgy for Haymon and his fighters. It's not working though.

You think Leo should be paid over 2 Mill? So by far his biggest payday? Why? That's just messed up business. It makes zero sense.

Leo is getting a million+ every fight. The 2M would be just so Wood gets the payday he is looking for.

I'm sure there are cheaper alternatives for Hearn and that's what he will elect to do but fighting someone like Lara is awfully dangerous. If Wood beats Leo and he very well may, then the potential unification bout with Warrington becomes even bigger.

Haymon has the WBA in his pocket. He knew if the WBA had it at 75/25 in Leo's favour, Eddie would have to pay Leo 3 times his biggest payday just to get Wood what he did last time out. That's why he sent it to purse bid. Leo should have been stripped a long time ago. It's coming up 4 years where he hasn't defended the title.

So the WBA are in the business of ripping off other fighters when you look at their fight purses in their last two fights? It makes no sense to give only 25% to Wood. He'd be getting a lot less than last time if Eddie put it an offer what Leo is worth. The WBA, like the WBC, look into their fight purses from their past fights and change the splits to make sense. However, Haymon doesn't want them to. You can even do the sums yourself and see how much would have to be put forward in the bid to get Wood the 850,000 like last time. If you think Leo is worth millions and the split makes sense, no wonder corruption is so widespread.
