A war between the US and Canada is more likely than Thurman VS Boots.

I like a fight between himself and Stanionis. That should make for a very interesting fight. Keith Thurman won’t come within a hundred yards of him. He’s too high risk and low reward.

I think Thurmans career resume gives him a very deserving top tier fight. You could say the same on what gives Boots a top tier fight - Abreu, Van Herden, a shot Lipinets, and 34 year old unproven Clayton wins don’t exactly inspire top tier. It’s a given no one is lining up to fight Ennis (who looks like a future P4P / possible Great),
but Thurman has been there, done that and this is a fight I would love to see so that either Boots takes that next step or Thurman is back in the title mix.

None of his best fights have been in the last 5 years.

I get Thurman is ranked higher at ww than Stanionis. I think Stanionis would give Boots and fans a better fight.

Thurman has looked pathetic in his last 3 fights, other than 5 of the last 6 rounds against Manny, after he stunk it up the first 6 rounds.

I think Thurman gets the fight, which is a shame imo.

That imo does not warrant a Boots/ Thurman fight.

I didn’t post anything about Boots being the draw. You somehow got that out of my post and then argued against that. Please stop doing that.

If you’re unsure about the point, ask.

No one forgot that. You seem to have forgotten by the time he fought Lopez, it was only for the WBA (Super) ww title. He never defended the unified title.

So in conclusion, I am not acting like Thurman is Dirrell. I think Thurman/Danny is a fine main event.

I think Stanionis right now is the better fighter and better opponent for Boots before he tries for a ww title. I also don’t think Thurman’s last 5 years warrant a big ww headlining fight.

If you disagree, fine, we can discuss more.
Yeah Thurman fell off years ago, but he had enough left in him to squeak by for a long time. He struggled with past prime Guerrero/Collazo but he did put in a decent performance against Porter in 2016.

His inactivity really makes his resume stale, but his name is big enough to warrant big fights even though you can be certain a faded version will turn up. If I was an up and coming fighter I'd definitely want Thurman on my resume – it would play bigger with the casual fans who had never heard of Stanionis.

              As I figured he would...

Keith Thurman calls for Danny Garcia rematch five years after first meeting

Former welterweight titleholder Keith Thurman didn’t wait long after Danny Garcia’s return win over Jose Benavidez Jr, taking to social media to immediately call out Garcia for a rematch of their 2017 fight while using his own version of poetry.

“I’m too pretty, I’m too blessed,” Thurman posted. “Danny Garcia can never pass the Keith Thurman test! I beat that boy with bone spurs, you see, I wasn’t even at my best. Look man, my IQ is even higher, his feet are slow like a flat tire. Be careful what you wish for. You silly Philly boy. This is not a game, it’s not Street Fighter — but I will still hit you with that yoga fire!”

Thurman, 33, is most recently coming off his own comeback fight after taking a hiatus from the sport when he beat Mario Barrios this past February. Thurman narrowly edged out a split decision over Garcia several years back, and would seemingly be willing to move up to 154 to make this rematch with Garcia considering that’s where he’s said to campaign now.

Then again, if these two were to rematch then it’s quite possible they could meet at a potential catchweight. Garcia isn’t necessarily considered at ‘real’ junior middleweight right now and was did have room to spare at his most recent weigh-in. We’ll see if this gains any traction going forward.

              Thurman is a clown!

why do people even entertain the idea of thurman vs ennis? it's either spence (that's what haymon wants, why showtime can't move the crawford fight along) or he'll fight danny at 154 (two fake 154s fighters again). the funniest thing is people literally saying danny can beat harrision, lara or lubin.

0 chance thurman goes near boots lmao. Stannois will get knocked out but he’s a decent fighter. The only “step up” in this division will be if/when we get boots vs spence/spud/ortiz

Again, Keith lost ONE fight...y'all act like he's Anthony Dirrell or somethin. Keith was a unified champion at WW and was the man to beat....he only lost to Manny. Y'all forget so quickly, I swear.
Who cares anyway? Runtime gets absolutely destroyed by Boots. It would be a brutal beat down and send him permanently into his already semi retirement. It’d actually be sad to watch.
