Comments Thread For: Espinoza: If Rahman Wasn't Committed To Making 200 Pounds, Shouldn't Have Signed Contract

Instead of predicting to us about how Rahman Jr wouldn’t make weight, why didn’t Porter tell us before his fight with Crawford that he was already planning to make it his last fight? Or that his training camp for the Crawford fight had been a garbage dump fire with his father constantly complaining that Shawn wasn’t preparing properly? Or that his father was already planning to throw in the towel if Shawn got in real trouble during the fight? Why didn’t Mr Predictor tell us all of that beforehand so that we wouldn’t have wasted time paying attention to his fight with Crawford - a fight he’d already lost it before the first bell?Comment

What? Your rebuttal doesn't fly. Jake being a charlatan or whatever you want to label him is irrelevant. This is professional prize fighting whether you like ot or not, and your feelings towards Jake mean nothing, but Rahman lying about his intent and progress to make 200lbs was unprofessional. Especially when this was going to be the biggest stage he ever fought in for a career high payday. He got some publicity out of it, but he just blew away his biggest purse and stained his relationship with one of the top broadcasters in the sport.Comment

I love boxing as an art. But I’ve come to despise how it’s run.
Ufc deserves to steal the fans of boxing. Far more entertaining match ups. No one is panicked to lose their zero.
everyone trying to cash grab and enter boxing and just treat it like a circus. Which it completely is.
boxing, is a complete joke. And fck this entire article. And that sht show of a “fight”
You don't see us on UFC forums. Fact, I don't even know wtf they are, and am sure that most of us real boxing fans don't, coz we don't give af about UFC.
Get the phuck outta here, troll.Comment

UFC is trash. And the fact you need to come here and try to promote just verifies it.

I’ve been a long time fan of boxing, and always will prefer the art of boxing over MMA.
but ufc promotes their fights very well.
they match up their champions very well.
they stack their cards. They make it worth the investment to watch it. From top to bottom.
and the fights become more skilful as the sport grows.
and i find them far more impressive than watching an underwhelming boxing main event with literally tomato cans on the undercard and you just wait for the main event. In which most of the time, you can predict who will win because the champions are protecting their zero and are the clear favourite. “Smart business doe”
Obviously not everyone, but the vast majority
It’s an awful business model for fans.
And you get fans now just arguing over who makes more money.
“aw he make $20m doe, he a stud”
”he the a side”
and you get other fans trying to act like captain “saveahoe” and be like “ufc rips fighters off and boxers get paid” like we see a cent of the profits.
wben literally 99% of boxers get paid complete trash. You want me to feel sorry for a boxer who can’t have the ability to retire from a $20m payday? And they just keep saying ohh but the fans won’t look after me I need to secure my future for family.
mate. Their future was secured 6 times over, but greed and flashy overspending causes them to thirst for more.
they suck the sport dry and underwhelm fans. And that’s another facet that kills the sport. Like Keith Thurman. Overpaid. Squeezes the sport. Has the capacity to fight once in a blue moon.
Btched and moaned to get to the top. Then just milked it.
Oh and people like you are never subject to change.
you think it’s us vs them.
boxing vs ufc.
And gullible people like you is what makes the world turn and businesses profit from your gullibility.
their is no “us vs them”
