Andre Ward is a little late. Laila Ali stated around 10 years ago that Joshua had too much bulk and needed to lose some. I think the question is, when you lose muscle, does it come with some kinda price?

Muscle or no muscle, Usyk beats the brakes off him.

It won’t matter either way. He doesn’t have the grit, hunger, and meanness to be a long reigning P4P HW champion. On paper and from the outside looking in, he shouldn’t be having any problems beating the likes of, Usyk, Fury, Wilder, etc, but he’s just not that guy.

I agree with Ward 100%....especially when you're about to fight a blown up cruiser weight.....

Not a huge fan of AJ, give him credit for taking the immediate rematch

I mean to what end though? Dropping ten pounds of muscle so he can what? Try to outbox and out speed Usyk?
He’s never going to be able to match Usyk in any aspect of speed or skill. His best bet is to try and land heavy shots. He has a good uppercut. He has to be aggressive try and win via KO. Heck even a wobble and a follow up flurry could get him a stoppage win somehow.
The scores were closer than they should have been in the first fight. I understand how if AJ does a bit better and Usyk a bit worse that precedent could somehow get AJ a win in Saudi especially.
It’s AJ’s mentality that needs to change. He needs to fight hard. He needs to push. He needs to surprise the judges. He dropped Ruiz and went after him like crazy, it was awesome. Problem is Ruiz took it all and came back to drop AJ. Now AJ is gun shy and fearful. That was one fight though. He needs to hurt Usyk and know that jumping on him is his best chance. He’s the challenger and underdog. Fight like it.
He can lose all the weight he wants, he’s still got those giant feet to pick up and put down. They don’t shrink.
If he’s not willing to try and fight like the bigger man then make a run for cruiserweight lol

I tend to agree with Ward. He needs less mass to increase his speed and pick up his dexterity.

That's up to Robert Garcia to decide whether he puts on or loses muscle .
