Many non-athletes that are much older than him are able to maintain a good degree of fitness and maintain their weight and body composition (muscle vs fat ratio) into their later years. I know a few people that have done it and that continue to do it into their 50’s and 60’s at minimum. I understand the urge to overindulge but I question a person’s character and discipline when they can’t maintain a reasonable, moderate weight, especially a pro athlete.
Wicked I see your point. At the same time Jr might’ve been just trying to get his weight and muscle mass up to compete with these giants in his division. Then Jake came along and is trying to get him to make a tremendous cut, and Rahman has never had to cut weight in his pro career. It’s a double edge sword man!

Yeah, I know what you mean. It’s always difficult to make a guess as to whether the weight cut would be an absolute disadvantage for the bigger fighter or if the bigger guys natural size would give him the advantage regardless of the weight cut. I guess there are a lot of other factors that would come into play depending on the particular fighter and their unique circumstances.

Whatever JP's intentions were, HRJ could have passed on the contract, which is basically what he did.

He should have known better than anyone if he could have made 200-205.

They thought they were being smart taking advantage of Rahman's weight and draining him down, but it turns out they were dumb because now they don't have a fight. Always funny when using your 'A-side' advantage backfires.

Believe you me he could beat Jake Paul & his meat at the same time…
