I was not impressed with Mayweather tonight

I expected a knock out win from Floyd and I also expected a more competitive fight from Marquez.

The 50 bucks were worth it because i had a good time watching the fight with a lot of friends in my living room, even the girls liked that fight. The atmosphere felt great. I went out at 2am to Micky D's and in every single block i passed by their were groups of people talking about the fight from Mexicans, to Dominicans to Puerto Ricans, old people, young people, women, people in line in Micky D's. Everyone seemed to love the fight.

I'm happy that Floyd is back and he shut out Marquez, it wasn't boring, but he could have done better. I'm not impressed and i hope that was just ring rust.

Props to Marquez for giving it his all against the bigger, faster, fresher man. Took a lot of heavy blows, he deserves a vacation and when he comes back he deserves another big pay check.

Looking forward to 2010 Mayweather vs the winner of Pacquiao/Cotto.

i was disappointed with mayweather because of all the advantages he had against marquez and still he couldn't ko the guy. marquez was just too small compare to him. I think he could easily fight at 154 lbs.

I thought he could have nailed Marquez in the 2nd round but was disappointed when he didn't try.

Since I didn't order the fight, I was following a round by round update on another site. But, it seemed the folks in my neighborhood were MMA fans, 'cause they were hootin' and hollerin' when Belfort ko'd Franklin, you could hear the mofos loud as f**k.

The John Juarez fight got dull too because John was really taking him to school for most of the fight but you knew he didn't have the power to ko him and was going to get the UD. The best part of that fight was the last 30 seconds when Juarez hurt John. It was kind of the same for the most part with Floyd/JMM except the ko wasn't going to come as a result of Mayweather not willing to force it even though he could have stopped him I think.

JMM made sure the fight wasnt boring to be honest, He threw more combinations than Mayweather in the fight and he was ready to go to war at a high pace, The problem was Mayweather controlled the pace of the fight and fought a much slower pace than JMM would have wanted.

Considering his 18 months lay-off i would say he did okay not great against a game and respected fighter.

I would say he did as expected against an older, slower, weaker lightweight. He did not impress because he could not give us a knockout, which was what many believed should have happened if Mayweather truly wanted to regain his p4p title.

For me he did okay against a game fighter after 18 months layoff and i would leave it at that.
