  • CompuBox Punch Stats: Total Domination By Floyd

Las Vegas - Total domination by Floyd Mayweather Jr. who held Juan Manuel Marquez to single digit connects in every round. Floyd distributed his attack, landing 59% of his power shots and 59% of his jabs. Floyd landed more jabs each round than Marquez did total punches. Floyd’s performance was reminiscent of Roy Jones’ domination of Reggie Johnson. Jones outlanded Johnson 276-48, but one can’t place Johnson in the same class as Marquez, and future Hall of Famer. And some people will say he just did ok. Damn the bar is high when your name is Floyd Mayweather. A year ago Joe Calzaghe beat Bernard Hopkins WITHOUT LANDING ANY SIGNIFICANT PUNCH. No wonder Mayweather feels unappreciated. I'd say the same **** he has said if I got the same credit for doing great. So if Floyd lands 60% of his punches after a 2 year retirement, against the p4p #2 fighter in the world "he just did ok"... The hate is strong.

Wow, Floyd had the best difference in percentages for anyone before last night, I'd say he significantly added to his lead with this.

what trips me out was that mayweather fought most of this fight with one hand. jab and the left hook thats what won this fight. marquez did a good job of keeping his left hand up so we didnt see alot of lead right hands that mayweather loves to throw. but he still lands 59% of his punches and still doesnt get hit. marquez only landed 12% wow. and this is a guy that busted pacquiao up twice. crasy

Not bad for a 2 year lay off against p4p no.2

Floyd looked sharp last night, defense was there,he actually looked faster, and he made a master in Marquez look like any other fighter,Marquez did have alot of weight to gain, and appeared to be slower, but Floyd outclassed him,and thats hard to do against a fighter like Marquez

Agree...tought he would start using his right in the 10th going for the knockout...but winning a fight with one hand to JMM, one of the best fighters out there NOW...impresive
