Comments Thread For: Joshua Aims To Get Proper Respect, Especially From U.S. Critics, By Beating Usyk
Former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua does not believe that he gets the proper respect from the critics - especially from those within the United States.

Critics? I don't even hear anything about this fight. I personally don't care about heavyweights, I don't know, maybe there's some buzz in the US? I'm not seeing it anywhere. Not even on YT, American boxing content.
Usyk fan here. Not as a heavyweight. I loved his cruiser days. Usyk-Glowacki is one of the memorable fights I have ever seen, along with Toney-Jirov. After cruiser, I disconnected.
I don’t get it …what will beating usyk prove? he got a gift decision over maris bredis who just got schooled by opetia. And a gift decision over chisora. The fact AJ even has to rematch a guy like this speaks volumes as to who he is
Even Joshua is now seeing my perspective on belts. Kudos Anthony.
I'll respect you even way more if you drop them ALL after the fight.
I'll hold you to this quote:
“When big Anthony Joshua wins and becomes three-time heavyweight world champion, I am going to dash the belts, because you have to learn to respect ME as a person. I don’t want to be respected because of the belts that I hold. I want to be respected for the man you see.” -Anthony Joshua
For some reason he gets like, passionate hatred aimed at him and I'm not quite sure why?
Was he overrated? Somewhat, but is that his fault?
He has provided some good nights for boxing fans, had some very solid wins at heavyweight.
He's skilled but flawed, good but not perfect, that should be people's appraisal of him, but as I say, some people seem to have a feverish, foam at the mouth hatred of the man and I don't think he is deserving of that.
