Haney and Stevenson are both with arum so the fight shouldn't be hard to make once haney is done with kambosis. That said, it won't happen. Arum is going to put one of them in with loma.

Tank of course will probably fight a tuneup before the big fight with abner mares.

Of course Stevenson/Haney would not be Gatti/Ward, but maybe Rigondeaux/Donaire wrt to elite skills and tactics. Would love to see it!

Props to Stevenson for wanting to test himself and publicly stating his goals. Business will never realize a fight like this for the good of the sport. Fighters have to self-promote to create demand.

That doesn't mean Crawford was responsible for it with respect to the PBC guys refusing to fight him. That's a common logical flaw (x person did A so ONLY that person does A). Doesn't hold up. But Arum also didn't like his own fighter in the case of Crawford and complained about losing money on him, do who knows. Point is, you can only extrapolate history so far, and need to acknowledge that it's an assumption. It's not like Arum has never made cross promotional fights before. IMO Haymon is far more guilty of protecting his fighters within his own promotion recently, particularly with respect to the divisions in question. But YMMV.

The Future? The Future is now! I mean I guess Stevenson is still pretty young but he's been champ for a while, Tank is like 27, 28, Haney too. All these clowns I think went to the Terrance Crawford school of boxing business..... To think of the actual great fighters in boxing history and were they were at the age of 23, 24, 25.....
