He is right. Jake Paul and his leftovers should get removed permanently. These idiots ain't even on an amateur Golden Gloves champion level.

alot of upcoming boxers have to fight for tv or promoter exposure, carry a full or part time job, take on anyone without a full camp or knowing the style of opponent they are taking on, working their up the ladder with their coaches and trainers. Certainly not having extravagantly expensive camps.
The “non boxers” as Marquez refers to, they aren’t doing the “grind” that the real fighters have to do. And even with all the expensive full time camps and diets and expensive multiple sparring partners, eventually if they keep at it, they’ll come across a dog who will beat the fkn sht out of them and make all the fairweather fans fly away.
and then in their weak moment be asked the question, “do I really want this”
and that’s what makes fighters.
Not just instant undefeated records and padding their records and flashy press conferences.
that can only last so longLast edited by YGriffith; 07-22-2022, 04:22 AM.

I agree with the great Juan.
However I also feel that fighters going around claiming robbery when thoroughly dominated is bad for the sport.
I’m not a huge Bradley fan but and I’m actually more of a Marquez fan and I was rooting for Marquez but IMO he acted like a crybaby that night.

There has always been a circus and even a clown show part of boxing, but even that was treated with the understanding that those guys were not the real deal. What has happened now is that the Promoters are happy to put anything or anyone in the ring and sanction it as a boxing match if the money is right to them. Showmanship over professinalism for the sake of the dollar has taken over, even if it is only a small % of the fight game. That small % gets a lot of hype and promotion from the actual promoters, the wanna be fighters, and really the writers and mouth pieces of boxing need to held responsible for all the hype also. I dont want to have to read about wanna be's who benefit off the hard work and sacrifices of fighters like Marquez. Why let these clowns get attention and lots of money off the backs of professional fighters. Empty content podcasts with nothing to say talk it up, a person who wants to write and keep in good favor with promoters all contribute to what in truth is the most powerful sport in all the world always has been and will always be so. Another words I get where Marquez is coming from...................Megaman99 likes this.

The internet broke society. Since social media imposters have risen to prominence. Whether is be artists, musicians, journalists, authors, experts, or politicians, they are a noisy minority that subsumes the majority of our attention. It seems that boxing is no exception.

that’s a grind in itself.
At some point there’s a point in boxing that will make you rethink what you’re doing.
and to question that is an insult to the sport

Put Jake Paul in against a Beterbiev or Canelo--he outweighs them but it would be more interesting. Marquez is right--guys like Jake haven't earned the right to make big money in the ring but this is a new world.
