Garcia has fought at 135 his whole career. He’s been calling out Tank the past 6 months & not once did he mention 140.
He moved to 140 to accommodate Fortuna and said making 135 was easy.
Suddenly he’s being “weight drained” by Floyd?

So what is Mayweather’s point in wanting the fight at 135?

Its about striving not to disadvantage your guy, that should be obvious, this is fast track competition the idea is to give your guy their best chance of winning, that is why Mayweather wants 135, simply because Tank is a very small fighter and they don't want to give another top-line fighter the edge if they don't have to.

I think that Garcia will go down to 135, if he wants it bad enough. His words were, I'm not going back down to 135 for nothing. So that implies he may still go down for something he wants, and he says he wants Davis, so we will see.

That's not what he meant. He meant he can dictate. He can easily make 135.

This fight will not have a catchweight, ZERO. That's not negotiable, not even one pound. Belts mean shit but I'm still OK with the divisions as they are for now. There'll not be any advantages to Ryan, ZIP. He's already advantaged with his dimensions and 25-30 pound weight gain on fight night (Reference Zurdo Ramirez).

Davis is a featherweight.
