he's also a hooker which Canelo's defense is extremely effective against.

Canelo would hit him with hooks to the body.

I'd favor Canelo in that fight.

It is often mentioned Canelo would stop Benavidez with body shots, but I cannot see how without canelo getting punished for it.

At this stage, Benavidez would punish and stop Canelo. He is like a young Canelo, flat-footed but better combination puncher, faster and more vicious.
