GGG`s career in one sentence will be: he fought Canelo three times.
I agree with most of this post, but Cotto? lol. Cotto was never ever going to fight Golovkin. Ridiculous to blame him for that fight not happening.

A Cotto fight would not have been easy, remember Canelo was gifted that win against Cotto.

Cotto would have fought him but at a catch weight. Remember Cotto never ducked a fighter.

          No Nelo, no GGG.

            What?

You guys are out of your mind and don't really know boxing.

Agreed. I am not a Canelo fan (at all, especially not of Canelo the person), but his performance against Cotto was great. This was a very clear, and in part even impressive, UD, and certainly not a gift.

GGG was in his prime at the time. It's quite unlikely in my opinion that Cotto could have survived the onslaught - that version of GGG was an accurate powerpuncher with great output and stamina, who stalked and cut off the ring really well. Being also the clearly bigger man, I think GGG would simply have walked Cotto down.

Cotto was a great and fun to watch fighter, but he did not belong at 160, and only got that belt because Martinez was basically a cripple by the time they fought. That fight was painful to watch.
