Guess Israil's gonna take it but he's always gonna be hobbled by his style... awkward brilliance but either ignores or hasn't got the really robust core fundamentals that usually characterise elite ammys from the former Soviets. I'm a big fan but that's gonna catch up with him at the highest level.Comment

It's been a while and my recollection may not be perfect but I think I felt Soro at times looked old and other times looked his normal self. I remember not being impressed with Madrimov but I think he did hurt Soro with a legal punch (it was the others that followed after the bell that were the issue).
Anyway, time isn't on the Frenchman's side, I will go with the Uzbek by late stoppage.Comment

Well said. There's a lot to like and a lot to make you kinda scratch your head about when it comes to Madrimov. If he becomes WBA mando it probably benefits him he's last in line for a mandatories. It's been a while and my recollection may not be perfect but I think I felt Soro at times looked old and other times looked his normal self. Soro has definitely been underrated. I remember the first time I saw him fight was when he was brought in an as an opponent for Antoine Douglas. I thought he won that fight but, as I recall, they were very generous to give Douglas a draw.
It's a shame he wasn't in more high profile fights because I think he would have held his own and won his share against the other top level guys at 154.
Going into the first fight, I thought he would school Madrimov, whom I don't rate highly. I saw some things that looked like Soro was getting old. I will be pulling for the Frenchman but I don't feel confident in his chances.Comment
