Comments Thread For: Stevenson Views Lomachenko as Top Priority: That's A Fight That Needs To Happen Someday

Shakur Stevenson thinks it would be a shame for his career to end without having had a go at one of the top boxers in the world today. Stevenson, the WBO and WBC 130-pound titlist from Newark, New Jersey, also realizes that a fight with the three-division titlist from Ukraine should be relatively easy to make, given that both fighters share the same promoter in Top Rank Inc.

Loma needs to fight Devin ASAP, then he can fight him for all the straps.

Loma doesn't have much fights left given his age.

it's a bit weird to call out a fighter who isn't currently active, and may never come back.

Loma is physically to small for both shakur and haney. I’d prefer tank v Loma as a contrast to styles and are physically the same frame

You mean like when Boots called out Shawn Porter?

well, at least Loma hasn't officially retired lol. It doesn't seem like he will be available anytime soon, though. Boots is sounding ridiculous calling out a retired guy that doesn't need the money.

Loma could fight at 130 if he wanted to. He chooses to fight at 135 so he gotta fight the 135lb-ers! Similar situation to Davis. Stevenson isn't even there yet but Haney is and has all the titles. These are the fights that's got to happen.

As per Michael Benson, "Vasyl Lomachenko has now declared himself ready to fight again and has asked for a bout in October, Top Rank’s Todd DuBoef has stated. Loma previously turned down the George Kambosos Jr fight earlier this year to stay in Ukraine and defend his country." -
