Cotto shouldn't get credit for beating Pac......right ?Comment

so in order to compensate for being more skilled... he should be physically hindered? maybe have a shin splintered? or not eat for a week before a fight?
is that what you really want to see? good fighters reducing themselves so that worse fighters have a better chance at beating them, is that the only way we can achieve that pugilistic nirvana of "competitiveness"?
how about we let them fight each other, both at the best they can be, and prove who's really better? instead of writing off an opponent on assumptions and speculation to the point where we prevent the pressumed more talented individual gaining anything from actually substantiating the perception of his ability.
i find it ironic how serial floyd detractors on this forum like to brandish their little "should have, could have, didn't" slogan but would now not only be be completely content to cling on to their own baseless conclusions without even witnessing the fight, but actually use this ignorance as a tool to preemptively further discredit the man. you can't have your cake and eat it too.
tl;dr version: yes, floyd holds a small weight advantage but how do we know he's better than or can beat marquez until after they've fought? and you can't allocate just how much credit mayweather will or won't recieve for a win before the event has actually taken place and the conjecture becomes tangible, that's ridiculous and a blatant indication of an agenda.
i realise i've rambled. sorry. i've started drinking already.
I know JMM called him out, but many other people have and he hasn't fought them.
He should be fighting another WW.Comment

I've always given him his due respect for 130 and 135.
I'm just not going to blindly follow his lead like many are, and that is a part of what is sad about this whole ordeal is that people are actually giving him a pass on
1. fighting another opponent who is out of his weight class.
2. purposely misleading the public once again.
3. disrespecting the sport as a whole by coming in overweight.
We have given flak to all fighters that don't honor their contractual weights,
but because Floyd paid some money out of pocket,
its ok?
If this happens more and more in the future where fighters just say , "**** it, I'll only have a pay a fine, I'll come in overweight",
are you ok with that?
I don't see how anyone who claims to be a fan of boxing and sports in general, give that a pass.
Naturally we all want our guy or team to win,
but not at the expense of cheating.Comment

or did you happen to miss those fights since Mayweather wasn't involved?Comment

For a nice change from the current topics going on let's try to guess what excuses pee-pee mouth's fans will come up with to justify their golden boy's (no pun intended) loss to the greatest fighter in modern day boxing.
Personally i think they're gonna play the "he was overweight at the weigh-ins" card and claim a size difference was the difference in the fight as if a great fighter can't overcome a 4 pound difference.
The more creative ones might claim moving up in weight slowed him down or he's "not used" to fighting at WW, ignoring the fact that there's been many great fighters that have moved up and dominated higher weight classes (ie: RJJ) without pulling the weight card as a cop out when they may have lost to a superior fighter.
What do you guys think they'll come up with to justify Floyd beating him?Comment
