Comments Thread For: Ryan Garcia: I Need Gervonta Davis For Mega Fight, I Don't Have Ego To Admit That

LOS ANGELES - Ryan Garcia is a realist. The upstart boxer boasts nearly nine million followers on Instagram, but he knows his star appeal can break past social media boundaries with the right dance partner.

Don’t tell me you want to fight if you’re really not going to be about it meaning don’t be like me. Isn’t this the idiot that talked up a Davis fight all last year and then pulled out of the negotiations?

Remember when Garcia declared he wasn't going to call out his rivals and less then 24 hours later completely forgot that?

But Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia is not a ''Mega-Fight''' -- well only in Ryan's head it is. How about if Ryan beats a legitimate champion for a real world-title, and 'Tank' can do the same ( by the way ).

Then you two bozos can meet and actually build a proper unification. But none of these two clowns are beating Devin Haney, they will just have to pick up his scraps once he vacates and leaves the lightweight division.

Ryan Garcia fights once a year and is already looking to cash out. Tank kills him.

You’re wrong. Tank vs García is possibly the 3rd biggest fight that could be made right now (after AJ-Fury and Crawford-Spence???) with so many watered down titles being handled out right now, unification isn’t necessarily “the biggest fight you can make” anymore. In today’s boxing world social media appeal is worth much more than having titles.

I now understand why Gervonta Davis is refusing to vacate his WBA 'regular' title : it helps convince his casual fanbase that he is defending a 'World-title' ; Ryan's fans are pretty naive and will buy it just the same.

The only ''watered-down'' title at lightweight is 'Tanks' : Devin Haney is the lineal undisputed lightweight champion of the world, Ryan Garcia is a BUM and I don't consider any fight he is in as a 'Mega-Fight'.

I 10000% agree with you and the way it should work, but that’s not reality. Jake Paul is fighting on PPV, while an undisputed champ like Haney is fight on ESPN+.

Two divas who are moving at the pace of turtles when it comes to competition level. This is far from a "super mega fight" one is a PPV flop and the other barely even fights. No belts between the two of them unless you count that fake trinket Uncle Haymon paid for.
