Truth and Misconceptions about Errol Spence and Terence Crawford

Here's the absolute truth about both fighters.

    Terence Crawford:
    - high iq boxer (iq is a little overrated)
    -very quick feet
    - solid power (shots are sharper and crisper more than they're heavy)
    - suspect defense (gets hit pretty cleanly, pretty often)
    - competent switch hitter (though uses southpaw as a "last resort" when Orthodox isn't working)
    - amazing ability to adapt in the ring
    - amazing counterpunching ability (I mean this guy's ability to counterpunch is ridiculous)
    - great determination and grit (this is inarguable)
    - suspect chin
    - limited inside game (credit: Punch on Tap)
    - okay head movement (though still does get hit often)

    Errol Spence:
    - solid iq boxer (higher iq than most give him credit for)
    - slow feet
    - applies great pressure
    - very heavy handed
    - knows how to stick to gameplay (wouldnt say he adjusts very well)
    - underrated boxing ability (though Bud is definitely more dynamic)
    - strong heavy jab
    - great chin (he got hit with 2 flush unprepared/unseen shots from Ugas and didn't go down, look at Mayweather vs. Victor Ortiz)
-solid defense (not amazing defense but not terrible for someone who comes forward)
-Subtle head movement, but generates effective angles (credit: Punch on Tap)
    - Great Body Puncher (credit: PRINCEKOOL)

I'm sure there's more things I could I add, but here just some un-ordered truths on both fighters.

Can’t really argue with anything you said. I’d only add that Bud’s inside game is limited but he creates the distance he needs. Spence’s head movement isn’t great but he gives subtle angles and keeps his face close to your power hand to take your leverage away.

Great points, I didn't even consider them, I'm definitely gonna add those.

I think grit for grit Spence wins that battle. They are both equally sinister. Bud probably is more of a chess player/schemer in how to get his get back. Spence just forces you to get into a dog fight.

This is going to be a great fight. Spence is going to force high speed chess. It won’t be the first person who makes a mistake that loses..it will be the one who drops an ounce of confidence that does.

I agree once again. Although I think that Bud has the grit, I think once he starts feeling the body shots and the pressure of Spence his grit will go out the window and may be put into survival mode. I lean Spence but I definitely understand why this fight is 50/50.

            - - Could add no $$$ in a fight between the two, the reason it ain't been made yet.

Spence being from Texas and recently busted up in a spectacular Crash Dummy Film is the upside that sticks in the craw of plain vanilla Crawford, posturing being more important than his 40% of at least a decent purse.

Bud using southpaw as a last resort" isn't true though.

He'll go a long time in SP in plenty fights, even more so than orthodox

              Rest is spot on

When I think heavy-handed, I think guys who are stopping guys. As Roger Mayweather would say, who has he stopped lately? Crawford is the one stopping guys and putting the Beats by Bud on Gold Medal Olympians.

You get the same nonsense about Crawford from Derrick James that Ronnie Shields does to Andrade when his name is brought up. Charlo and Spence don't want the fights. Now, I'm hearing Haymon is going to make Spence vs Thurman. What a joke!! They were supposed to fight back in 2017

Errol Spence Junior is a great body puncher, and not just with single punches. Fighters at elite level these days, seem not to focus on developing a good body punching ability.

Body punching may be a determining factor in who wins this fight.

There is no point in solely focusing in trying to strike Crawford up top etc.
