I'm also wondering why people aren't mentioning how much Canelo seemed affected by Bivol's body shots. Some of those straight rights to the body definitely had Alvarez hunch over. Don't know why people seem to think only certain people get hurt by body shots. A well placed shot will hurt anyone and Golovkin, when he decides to actually throw them, is still very much capable of putting someone down with a body shot.

          Canelo is the one who:
-dropped his WBC belt to avoid prime GGG
-got handed a gift draw in the first fight that GGG whooped his ass in
-tested positive for PEDs and got the rematch delayed, which caused GGG to be stripped of the IBF belt for not fighting Derevyanchenko on short notice
-got handed a gift win in the second fight that GGG whooped his ass in
-waited GGG out for FOUR MORE YEARS to take the trilogy because he knew he couldn't beat him until he turned 40

Seems to me GGG is the one with the legitimate beef here. Canelo is just an entitled prick who can't accept he lost to this man twice already.

The hate might be genuine to some degree. If you look at the history of Golovkin and Canelo, Canelo's reputation took a big hit when he dumped the WBC belt to avoid Golovkin. Canelo received a huge negative response from his fellow Mexicans. He received a lot of criticism, so much that after two years, he decided to finally fight Golovkin. Then when he fought Golovkin, the world saw him lose eve though he received a draw. It made the criticisms of his career, that his career was a facade, that he was a lie and nothing but the magic of matchmaking, so much more critical. This obviously prompted Canelo to cheat, to use PEDs, order to gain an advantage. Canelo was caught because Golovkin insisted that drug testing start sooner. This caused a huge hit on Canelo's public image. Then, on the second fight, the majority of the world did not see Canelo beat Golovkin, that he was gifted a decision again, so instead of ending the criticism, it just continued.

So when Canelo thinks of Golovkin, he thinks of all of the negativity that came his way when he fought him. In some way, I'm sure he believes that Golovkin is responsible for his bad public image. Mexican hispanics love Canelo but Mexicans not so much. It is due to his encounter of Golovkin. More Mexicans love Golovkin instead of Canelo, and that wounds Canelo. It's obvious. Canelo blames Golovkin for all of it, and if not all of it, then part of it. In my opinion, the hate is real.
