The right man won, Opetaia piled up the points in the early and middle rounds, Breidis came back late but it wasn't enough.
For once the judges in Australia got it right.

I don't think Opetaia can get enough credit. He fought with a badly broken jaw and still pulled it out. Was close at the end, I think 7-5 was the right score. Heaps of potential with Opetaia, he was boxing like Usyk at times. 26 years of age, showed a world of maturity and will only get better (once his haw heels, he couldn't even talk at the end).

And Briedis a warrior as well, he fought with a badly broken nose which was bleeding profusely for about 7 rounds.

Opataia went thru hell to get the win no doubt, corner man said he got the jaw busted in the second round but by #12 that jaw was laying open one more solid bad hit and it might gotten knocked off. good show of will and never give in attitude. Let him take a soft touch after that win it was more brutal that it may have looked to some. 27 n 37 more and more older fighters are showing there age been the story for the past few months...........

Wow talk about an upset, this Aussie proved me wrong, heart of a lion to fight with a broken jaw and not quit, im shocked i even laughed and said he was scared by looking at him during the prefight press con and weigh in, i said this kid looks nervous and like he saw a ghost.

australia is really booming now, in boxing only thing is will they have any long term champions? Its like they can win belts but cant keep them, opetaia might be that dude.

we all knew breidis had heart, its opetaia that shocked us, i thought he was going to lose bad and quit, he looked nervous during prefight pressers and the weigh in. He shocked me i thought he was another aussie hype job, he beat the best guy in the division too in his first title fight

I was sniffing the upset since I saw Briedis dressed like Super Mario, and read all that Jake Paul sh́te.

Still, I had picked him to stop Opetaia late.

The new kid in town is tough, I want to see him again. Unlike Jeff Horn.
