No. He didn’t elevate it any further but to “ruin” your legacy is pretty damn hard. Even losing to the sandor guy doesn’t take away what he alrrady accomplished. Unless he got caught cheating or turned out be a serial killer his legacy is there.

Mikey was never really all that good.. Yeah he's good with the basic boxing fundamental but it takes more than that to become great! Could have made some good money but he turned down those fights..

He is a 4 division world champion, that can't be removed or ruined or changed. In my opinion he could have had a better career, but it seemed like he was only motivated by the millions at the end. Just going through the motion, he must have thought about the retirement long before he actually made his decision.

He could have probably stayed at lightweight and superlight longer and sealed his legacy by facing some popular names.

Welterweight should have been his last goal, a quick belt-grab, against a small welter.

He was always going to lose to spence, he fought like a chicken that fight just to survive not trying to win but he loses no matter what.


He was a decent B level guy, he was never an ATG. His thing was he could cut weight more than others and fit into 135. Once that was gone he was only ok at 140 and terrible as a welter.

It is what it is. Not everyone can be an ATG

I don't recall any mega matchup he went into besides Spence. You can be a multi-division champion these days easier than the past. Weight class are less apart than they used to be. If you fight a bunch of stiffs in each weight class, does it even matter?

Lomachenko is the only fight we ever cared about for mikey and Bob was never gonna pay mikey for that fight after the way mikey left top rank. so mikey made the right decision financially.
