We're talking about a full fledged light heavyweight here though. Canelo can toy around with guys smaller than him, but Beterbiev will walk through fire and destroy Canelo.

He's not slow by any stretch of the imagination and he may be a destroyer but he has proven that he can avoid punches and always, always deliver his own. Canelo would get splatted

The fact that Canelo fighting Beterbiev is even discussed is a credit to Canelo having pushed himself hard.

That being said, we know this matchup is somewhat unrealistic after the beating he took from Bivol. I'd say a less than 20% chance Canelo takes this fight, but if he does, he could get TKO'd from absorbing too much punishment. Still can't picture Canelo getting flat out KO'd.

He should go get that fat PBC deal and fight welterweights . We know that is more inline with what is most likely to happen.

He is partially correct in that landing on beterbiev could be easier, beterbiev doesnt have the same defense and movement as bivol. Beterbiev is slow but accurate. And he wont try to outbox canelo, he will pressure him and he doesnt have to "load up" on shots, they are all effortlessly hard for him. Canelo gets knocked out but he would have balls of steel if he even took this fight.

Sometimes he has looked slow. He definitely wasnt slow int he smith fight and his defense there was good parrying smiths shots, easy night for him there. I think he would look slow against Bivol, that fight should happen but promoters dont want it

The Bivol verses Beterbiev fight would be great and Bivol might well win but could go the other way as well. I really would like to see Canelo get the "easy fight" with Beterbiev..

                      Against Beterbiev, Canelo is stopped.
