I don't know if Garcia needs money, but I think for anyone still in their 30s who wakes up one day more or less retired, no job, and no purpose.... knowing the opportunity is there to both do something big and earn crazy money is going to be too tempting to stay away.

It even got to Floyd, but Floyd's ass was clever with this exhibition stuff.

It is good to see Danny Garcia back in the game. He has fought tough competition and fights everybody tough. I just hope he ups his work rate just a bit. Good luck Danny!

I've wanted to see this random matchup because I think Benavidez is the perfect type of guy to see if Garcia still wants to be there. (and it matches up TC/Spence common opponents)

Jose is going to be annoying as hell, talking crap -you don't want to lose any fight, but especially not to this guy. He can show his face after losing to Spence, but he is gonna hear it if he takes the L here.

Jose looked bad in his last fight but he will be motivated to "jump the line" so to speak, a win over Danny is huge for him. Nobodies at 154 but Garcia still has name value

For all we know the Charlo v Benavidez fight we get will be Jermell vs Jose.

When I reflect upon Danny Garcia's career; He wasn't a bad fighter but at the same time he wasn't a good one either, Most of his wins have come against gatekeeper status fighters like the one he's fighting now Jose Benavidez, Jr.

I say he was more of a triple's hitter than a homerun hitter. His best body of work came at 140 where he defeated an elite Amir Khan and Lucas Matthysse. They are the two best wins of his career. The rest of his wins have come against all gatekeepers.

Can someone explain WTH that means?
It means stepping up his level of opposition to challenge the likes of Pac and Money May at 147.

Does that mean that he's throwing punches in combination now in training against sparring partners.
I can see if he was like he says squeezing down to make weight, where he might have been trying to conserve energy.
But if that wasn't the case, and he's still the one or two punch at a time Danny, he's going to win some and lose some like before.
At 154 he'll be fighting bigger fighters with more height, weight, reach, power, who'll be able to assimilate Danny's power shot's.
Then again if Danny was debilitating himself by making the 147 limit, the move up to 154 might improve his overall fighting ability.
That seem like a bit of a stretch of the imagination, but I for one hope that it's exactly the case, and he's able to win a third world title.
Although I doubt it hope springs eternal, as the saying goes, and if he's able to pull it off, he won't be the first nor the last to do it.
Agreed! Ever since that Amir Khan fight he has been relying too much on his power. Especially that no look left hook of his. He is still looking to land that one lucky punch in every fight of his it seems.

With Danny even vs Spence Danny beat Danny it's frustrating as ****....Still thinks he's elite giving so, he move his hands 5 more punches a round and he's still a killer
He's a tiny 5'8" . He can be shredded all he wants, that doesn't make him any bigger. Any stronger, any taller, a longer reach. He's going to have to moved along carefully at 154. These guys are 168ers cutting down. Charlo will rip him to shreds.

He didn't look as good once he didn't have a size advantage.

Him fighting Castano at 154 would be nice. Castano is a very small 154 pounder.

It's one thing to be feeling unbeatable, it's a completely different thing to actually be unbeatable.
Whatever it is that your feeling keep it to yourself, and prove come fight night, and continue to do so going forward.
I hope that you're truly feeling unbeatable, and that you've learned to throw your punches in combination, because your going to need it at 154.
