The type of fighters that you have to beat on the way up if you are to progress in your career, his last fight was his toughest.
He hasn't fought in almost 2 years since that tough win against Alexis Rocha, and Rocha has won 3 fights since including defeating
Blair Cobbs who was undefeated by KO.
I don't know why he took such a long lay off just when his career was looking so promising, but almost 2 years off doesn't usually help an athletes career.
The fight between Vargas, and Magsayo is going to be one of those (someone's o has got to go) for these 2 undefeated fighters.
Magsayo is the guy who just won a controversial decision against Gary Allen Russell Jr, and with it his WBC featherweight title.
I'm going to have to go with the power punching pressure fighter Mark Magsayo, against the boxer puncher Rey Vargas in this one.
Also bear in mind that this'll be only Vargas' second fight in the 126 pound division, and if he wasn't draining himself by making 122 in the past.
I don't see the move up to 126, and up against this particular pressure fighter who can punch as a good thing for Vargas.
That said if Vargas moved up because he simply couldn't make the 122 limit, maybe the added weight will strengthen him, but I still got Magsayo winning.
