Naw, I'm going to keep pointing it out every time it happens.

If you ever wonder why fans don't get the fights they want this is the reason. Promoter power tripping, with Arum being the worst.

Then on top of that he serves up crappy undercards on his PPVs too. The fans always come last at Top Rank, unless it's to fleece them of their money.

At the end of the day...the fighters sign on. They know what they are entering into and accept it for the dollar signs. Haney showed it by signing. He wanted the fight and he took what it took. He also showed that if a fighter wants a fight...they can get it if they are willing to sacrifice. And by sacrifice I mean let go of the A Side talk....take a little less to get a little more etc etc. Most times it's the fighters talking about how when it makes sense it will make sense. It will never make sense to a promoter if a fighter is asking top dollar every time they step out regardless of opposition.

You're acting like other promoters don't do the same. Plant would only fight Canelo if it was on Showtime with PBC. Charlo would only fight Munguia if it was on Showtime only, no DAZN.

those situations are different. Canelo was a promotional free agent so there was no conflict. With charlo and munguia, dazn was going to take the Uk and Mexican tv rights while pbc took the American rights. Oscar declined and wanted dazn involved in us th rights too. In this scenario arum doesn’t want to compromise because he dazn sucks at promoting and their numbers suck.

Say what you like....in 2022 no man is legally a slave. Haney made a choice. My boss sells a product. If you want access to that product you sign an agreement to provide something for that product...in our case...cash. My boss tells me to make that product work. If I don't...I don't get paid...it's in my work contract. I know what I have to do...I signed on. I didn't have to...I could have worked somewhere else. If you know business...you know that many high paid executives sign time contracts and part of that contract stipulates that if they leave early...that they aren't allowed to take employment anywhere else until their original time contract expires.

This is a hairline battle. As I always say, the fighter with the better hairline usually wins. We saw that when Bivol fought Canelo. This is going to be a good one.

All promoters share the same philosophy. Networks also play that way. Top Rank/Golden Boy/PBC are like WWE/WCW/AEW....they have their own performers. The only difference is their belts are cross promotional whereas the wrestling ones are not. Same with the UFC. If boxing was promoted by the ABCs then we wouldn't have this situation. Fighters would just align with WBC/IBF or WBA. If you sign for WBC you fight for their belt. Set wage for champion and challenger. No A side negotiation required. You fight. You win...you get the champion size purse next fight and fight the next in line. Pretty simple. If you are up and coming and want to fight Tank for instance...get on whatever line he's on and work on up.

I don't disagree but Eddie Hearn doesn't help himself rubbing all the American's promoters the wrong way either.

True to an extent but lets not pretend also that before Hearn was on stage this was not already happening. We see with Crawford / Spence and many others that there are these ‘silent’ embargos and maybe Hearn is helping put other promoters on their toes and changing balance of power towards fighters.

I do agree though many fights could have been made if he didnt behave like a 5 yr old taunting his rivals.

Hearn at least doesn’t outright refuse working with anyone.

Also looking at how Arum and Warren did a complete number on Hearn getting him to spend 2 months flying around world to negotiate AJ / Fury - then pull out last minute - you would expect Hearn to be equally bitter as he could have severed major relationships with partners but he gets on with it.

You see how he manages to work well with smaller promoters for example without hamstringing them and they come back to work on undercards. Compare how other US promoters lock out Dibella and create conditions where fighters literally have few options. Of course i wont pretend Hearn hasnt upset Dibella and others too! :-)
