Lot of Hearn haters on this site. He's a gobby, silver spoon fed, interloper Brit on the American boxing scene. He exaggerates and is sometimes a hypocrite - but so are Oscar and Arum and Warren.

But he talks a lot of sense and takes us less for fools than other promoters as per his comments in this article.
Even though Eddie annoys me at times and you may think I fall in hater category.

Anyways I am now at a point where I blame a lot of these YouTuber channels that are asking the questions to Eddie. They seem to always wanna steer him towards bashing a different event he isn’t involved in or want him to rate it etc.

I’m more interested in Bud/Spence fight at this point but even I can concede that Eddie is partially correct in what he has said about this.

I think some of you guys who defend Eddie never seem to concede any ground. Even facts such as how he makes clear HE wants the fame and tries to overshadow his own stable are often denied by the strongest of Hearn fans.

it’s more the fan club that comes with Eddie than it is Eddie most of the time. Those guys are on another level and perceive any opinion that’s opposite to their own as just being “hateful, Abusive and whatever else people are thinking that day.

rant over. Have a good day.

If that’s the case then why is the fight in the fight capital of the usa? Odd statement, nah, asinine statement. Canelo and ggg both made their bones in the usa….American fans made them the wealthy stars they are

I don't think Spence or Crawford bring many fans to the table, other than the real hardcore fans! Jake Paul will bring bigger numbers on PPV than these 2 guys! As fake as he is he is more popular! Unfortunately.
I absolutely agree, very unfortunate for us hardcore fans rarely getting the fights how they need to happen in order of the true fight science. Boy do I miss the 70's thru the early 90's

Truer words have never been spoken on this forum. Anything said against the man is responded to like some grand greater insult to a group. It is as if his fans feel ENTITLED to him being in charge. As if they see a challenge to him being in charge in the usa as some sort of “blasphemy of nature”, a blow to the natural order of things. But of course many know what time it is….

Hearn is exaggerating. No way Canelo vs GGG III is 10x bigger. Maybe 2x bigger, at best, in PPV numbers.

Spence-Crawford could do something like 400k minimum, 600k would be amazing numbers. Crawford has never had any good PPV numbers, ever. Spence sells an average of 350k. So 600k would be fair.

Canelo vs GGG III might do around the same, but has a higher ceiling of maybe 900k to 1 million.

            I wouldn’t call that 10 times bigger.

How can that be true, wh?en Canelo just got his face tattooed with leather for 12 straight rounds

Both won't pass the 1 mil ppv mark, none of the current fighters can pull these numbers nowadays, but within that realm, Canelo might outsell Spence vs Crawford by 100-200k ppv buys max. These fighters aren't as popular as they should be mainly due to inactivity. and the popularity of the sport for casuals has suffered a lot.

Honestly....I'll pay whatever it cost for Crawford vs Spence and I'll likely skip GGG vs Canelo....but maybe that's just me...

I don't care which one is bigger. I'm sure GGG/Alvarez 3 will again end in a controversial 12 rounder. I don't see anything different in the outcome, their styles of fighting, mode of adjustments, etc. None...

Spence vs Crawford is a complete mystery to me. I have no clue who would win, who would dominate, set the tone, etc.

In any event, I don't buy PPV's. I visit some friends and watch fights with them.

Spence has actually been trending down in buys. He peaked with Mikey Garcia(which was probably more to do with Mikey). He’s not pulling over 250k these days.
