It really depends how you define "bigger". Hearn is only saying this because he's involved in the GGG-Canelo III promotion. If he promoted Bud or Spence he'd be singing another tune. As far as the more important fight and a bigger matchup that is more relevant and highly anticipated, it's Bud-Spence by a long shot. As far as tickets sold and revenue generated, it's probably GGG-Canelo III but in that case, it only shows the ignorance of boxing fans and the appeal of the trilogy fight to casual fans. As far as pro boxing is concerned in relation to a fight that needs to happen and is more consequential, Bud-Spence is much bigger, more important and more interesting.
Spence Crawford in a legacy division has the potential of Hearns/Leonard if Spence's defense is up to par when Crawford starts to run downhill on him while Canelo GGGimmick is regurgitation. We have already seen the last 2-3 fights GGGimmick body is on the level of Keef Thurman and DAZN execs had to make a call from the sidelines and bail him out of his last fight.
I would say so, I believe Spence and Crawford will do good as well, I can see them pulling about half a million to 600k depending on the price. Canelo has averaged 850k in his last 2, I can see GGG fight pulling in around the same or close to a million here in the states. World wide though, Canelo, GGG brings in more money.
