How would Bivol and Beterbiev do vs Prime Kovalev?

You’ve have to be a dumbass to think Joe Smith had faster hands than Beterbiev.
Stop with the Wilder-esque excuses man, we all make bad picks, I’ve made plenty.Comment

It was never a 50/50 fight. Smith got beaten soundly by Sullivan Barrera and Dmitry Bivol, got handed a gift win in a fight where Maxim Vlasov schooled him, went to a split decision with Jesse Hart, and took way too long getting rid of a nobody in Steve Geffard.
Smith's entire career was built off of wins over shot fighters like Bernard Hopkins (fast approaching his 52nd birthday at the time) and Eleider Alvarez.
Beterbiev, on the other hand, ate the reigning WBC/lineal champion alive when he beat Oleksandr Gvozdyk.Comment

So what, people are wrong all the time. You're the one who said Canelo would beat Bivol easily. How did that work out?
Says the guy who thought Smith was gonna give Beterbiev big problems. Remember when I schooled you on that last week? I told you it would be a one sided beat down.
Bivol ain’t that hard to hit, that compubox stuff is nonsense, it’s nerds pressing buttons. Bivol has really good output and is difficult to get in punching range so it’s no surprise his plus/minus looks good on paper but as I said if you get into punching range he isn’t that difficult to hit. His defence is pretty basic, high guard, doesn’t slip much, just blocks punches with the gloves.Comment

I literally said I’ve got plenty of picks wrong before. What I didn’t do was start making BS excuses like that other dude was doing. I’ll always give full credit to the fighter whether I picked him to win or not.Comment

I'm actually also kind of lean in this direction. But none of these fights would have a heavy favorite, they all are around 60-40. Prime Kovalev had very effective and stiff jab. And his right hand is straighter than Beterbiev's. And he packs a lot of power in both hands. His recent outings after the Wards fights overshadowed what we remember (or not) about the prime version. I think 1st Ward fight ruined him psychologically - he couldn't get over what he perceived as unjust decision, hence possible problems with drinking etc.Comment
