Bradley's commentary has become extremely biased lately. Last night I heard him say something about Robeisy Ramirez that just was wrong to say. He was commentating on how Ramirez beat Stevenson in the Olympics, and he put down Ramirez to big-up Stevenson. I'll quote what was said:
It sounded as if Bradley was triggered. And Tessitore too, alhtough I think he said that because of Bradley's reaction. And I've seen him say other things that are just more and more biased. Bradley has the annoying habit of cheerleading for one fighter instead of just commentating. Andre Ward is much better at keeping things neutral. The only time I hear Ward become biased is when Stevenson fights, which is understandable because he trained Shakur for a long time.
I also heard Bradley call Haney's boxing beautiful. You can say what you want about Haney, but that performance from Haney against Kambosos, though efficient, was anything but beautiful. When you clinch, hold and duck every round of a fight, every 10 seconds, that is the antithesis of "beauty." It's an ugly way of fighting, stalling the flow, taking not only the opponents fans out of the match but taking your own fans out of the match. No matter what anyone says, if you consistent break the rules of the fight, you are making it an ugly fight. If low-blowing your opponent over and over again is considered making the fight ugly, so too is clinching, holding and hitting.
He also recently said that Tank Davis doesn't have a chance against Haney, and that if you take Lomachenko's angles away, he's ordinary. Hearing these things from Bradley is just mind boggling. If all Loma had were angles, he would have had a near perfect amateur record or have been able to consistently beat champions at higher weight classes. That's not ordinary, and that's not occurring just because of taking an outside angle.
So I don't now what Bradley is on, but he needs to put the pom poms down because he's the backlash will be even bigger than it has been lately.
I just wanted to vent this because I thought it was just uncalled for to have to get defensive on the fact that Shakur lost to Ramirez in the Olympics. Ramirez doesn't even talk about it, so why get defensive? And why cheerlead for particular fighters when they fight? Doesn't he realize that there are fans of both fighters watching? I like Bradley a lot but this **** has to stop because of how off-putting it is.
Tessitore: Ramirez is the last man to defeat the current unified champion 130 pound champion Shakur Stevenson. That was in the 2016 Olympic finals. Now Ramirez is 28 years old. This is his eleventh pro fight.
Bradley: Well, you see where Shakur Stevenson is now.
Tessitore: Yeah. On top of the world.
Bradley: Ahahahahahahahahahah Yeah. Okay. That's cute. That's cute.
Tessitore: Hope you felt good about 2016. Meanwhile, the other guy is a rocket ride on the P4P list.
