Beterbiev is a true champion! Dedicated, motivated, honest and humble. I hope he gets the chance to unify, and I hope we get a chance to see it!

I'm sure nobody is more excited than Anthony Yarde to hear this news...

Beterbiev continues to climb the charts as the most rad fighter out there. His slight lateral movements automatically turns his offense into defense. It is so much more nuanced than what it seems at first glance. Subtle brutality at its finest!

Just make the fight b/t the two champions Beterbiev & Bivol. Good match. Yarde can fight the winner.

Artur vs Dimitry is going to be an EPIC fight.... totally a waste to host it in USA though.
Then we have the issues of Artur's Mandatories..... and on Bivol's side, we have the upcoming mandatory IIRC and we of course have Canelo rematch stipulation.... so in order for Bivol/Beterbiev to happen, I believe Canelo will need to sign off.... and depending on how much he wants.... may not be enough Top Rank money for that.

            OR....

Hearn could offer Beterbiev a 2 fight deal.... vs Bivol, and then Canelo gets option at the winner....

Bivol vs Beterbiev, just stylistically, will also likely need a rematch or two... it will most certainly go 12 rounds.

We may see this next year?

Artur fights Yarde to get rid of his WBO mandatory, Bivol vs Ramirez, then unification in January or Spring.... and Winner gets canelo in fall or year after?

Interesting comment by Beterbiev. He said he was, “lucky that he landed first.”

It makes it seem like Beterbiev believes he would’ve lost if Smith landed clean. Would it have been a completely opposite outcome had Smith landed his first? Beterbiev tastes Smiths power and throws the gameplan out of the window. Cuz it sounds like Beterbiev respected Smith, but Smith never landed clean on Beterbiev.

Was this fight really just a case of who landed big first?

well.... Beterbiev has been knocked down before.... twice. Joe Smith JR was not.

Also, majority of the KD that Joe received, were largely due to his horrible lazy jab and ducking his head down. He opened up the top/back of his head for Artur to land on.

While I am impressed at his finishing ability, I am not impressed that his punches behind the head are only rarely called by officials. I am sure he is aiming behind the ear, but misses because of slips or what not. But that's still his fault.

It just means that if Smith had landed first, his punch would not have had the same effect on Smith or perhaps he would have been hurt or stunned. I don’t know where it implies that Beterviev thinks he would have gotten ktfo.

Yarde is so overrated, not deserving of this opportunity
