Andre Co-Ward retired to avoid facing Beterbiev and Bivol

After beating a drunk Kovalev with ballshots, Ward could have stayed and truly challenged himself against the true monsters like Bivol and Beterbiev.

instead he retired claiming there was “nothing left for him to do,” while bragging he wanted to fight and beat AJ.

So you think you can beat AJ but you won’t fight Usyk, Beterbiev or a Bivol? Beterbiev was already seen as the next big thing in 2017 when Ward retired.

Ward is not ****** he knew before everyone else how dangerous those guys are.

Andre Ward is a Coward and his fans are muppets.

To think that Ward didn’t retire because he was financially set for life, had his health, had been in the fight game for 25+ years, and was often injured late in his career but instead retired to avoid two fighters who were barely a blip on the radar (at the time) is incredibly ignorant.

      Ward is 38

      Beterbiev is 37

make the fight ward. he would be brutally KTFO

Ward is a joke. The ****** announcer team asked how Ward would approach fighting beterbiev, he wouldnt, he would duck the ever living **** out of that fight. He had to weight drain overrated chad dawson to even fight him. He wouldnt even say beterbiev's name if he was an active fighter. gift win over aging Kovalev I and ref saved him with a fake stoppage from 5 punch combination to the balls in the second fight. Should have been a DQ or atleast give kovalev 5 minutes, ref called it a knockout on ward's payroll

Other than their ages, there’s not one true statement in this post.

Andre Ward made reasonably little compared to the real fighters of his day. He was never a big draw or a decent PPV star. He was the Rigondeaux of his weight class...but less skilled.

Fighters can retire when they're happy with career. After beating kovalev and being unbeaten he was happy. Ward didn't necessarily think beating kovalev would make him a top ten ATG or anything but that that fight was the biggy at the time.
Only issue is kovalev continues to fight and loses and diminishes wards win.
Sure ward could have stayed on to fight badder men than kovalev

A lot of liars in this thread. Beterbiev was already seen as the next Light Heavyweight boogeyman when Ward conveniently retired.\

                Ward knew what was up.

There's always badder men to fight. Ward didn't want to be goat so no need to fight badder men than kovalev. Floyd could have fought GGG, but like ward didn't want to be GOAT, but wanted to be unbeaten.. But if your happy with your lot then it is what it is
