Froch needs more fans, I think he might be hated more then Calzaghe on here.
Haven't you noticed a trend recently though? Less people are ****ting on Joe, and many of those who did previously are gradually changing their tune.

Absolutely, and those who think he's easy to hit cleanly haven't been watching his fights properly. He's easy to hit, but not cleanly. He turns away from the punches at the last moment, so most of them don't hit him with any force. That's why he appears to have a better chin than he really has.

His best quality is his sense of space and ability to judge distance - even though he is a relatively slow mover, he is able to move into and out of range very well. When he's on form, his timing is also under-rated. His timing was poor at the start of the Taylor fight, but improved steadily as the fight went on, and was superb in the last four rounds.

His jab is also under-rated by many, partly because he often forgets to use it enough, partly because it malfunctioned in the early rounds against Taylor, when his timing was all over the place. But when he's in the groove, he has an excellent jab, and knows how to control a fight with it. In the second half of the Pascal fight, he controlled almost every round with his jab.

And he fights with an intensity that very few fighters possess. Although I'm not comparing him with Duran in terms of skill, the intensity he fights with reminds me of Duran. His opponents can't afford to relax or take a breather for a second when they fight him, and that is extremely tiring for an opponent, over the course of 12 rounds. That's why Taylor gassed against him.

And as others have mentioned, his stamina is superb.

IMO, everything depends on whether he uses his jab consistently against Dirrell, and on whether he remembers to keep his hands up when moving out of range. That's the time when he keeps getting caught unnecessarily, when he's moving out of range. The rest of the time, keeping his hands low isn't the liability people think it is - and it allows him to throw punches from unexpected angles that his opponents don't see coming.

If he can get those two things right, I'm pretty certain he'll win. If not, he'll probably lose. But IMO the result of the fight is in Froch's hands. If both fighters bring their A game, Froch will win, but if Froch is complacent, or off form, then Dirrell can win.

Its funny you say that because I've seen just the opposite. More so in every day life not on here. People don't like or respect Joe and don't speak of him.

He's no PBF who leaves the sport yet EVERYONE keeps talking about anything and everything about him. No one cares about Joe and what he did or erhmmm didn't do. He wont be remembered anywhere but in Wales. At least he made some change though! Good on him. Boxing don't need Joe! Is he a HOF'er for staying home and being the SMW "champ"? Sure why not.... Gotta give him something right!

At least Kessler is boosting his career a little for him. He did beat Kessler and I have him winning the Super six. So yeah that's good for him.

Froch though, he wont make it past rd two of the super six. I actually have Dirrell beating him if he (Dirrell) gets on his bike. Joe would pitty pat Froch all night to an easy sloppy and ugly UD... Would have been a good pay day for him in Wales.....

so in reality froch did not win the fight taylor lost it
Taylor gassed because Froch wore him down. And the combinations Froch threw in the final round were clinical. So many fighters get wild when they have an opponent hurt, but Froch took his time, kept cool, and almost every punch he threw in that final round landed. You're being very ungenerous to Froch. Sure he was way behind on points, but he won the fight. Taking the fight as a whole, Froch was the better man on the night.

I don't understand the double standards people apply to Froch. No one says "Marciano didn't win the fight against Walcott because he was way behind on points when he knocked Walcott out". So why apply different standards to Froch? Froch won that fight fair and square.
