Marquez should've said 1M per pound. That would've given the cheeky ****er incentive to sweat of a couple more punds.

In that case either man could weigh as high as 147 pounds, right?
Contractual weight was the 147 pound welter limit, but penalties were written into the contract for excess poundage over 144. ”The penalty [for Mayweather] was a significant amount of money,” said Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer.
Nothing in that says anything about a catchweight...
Someone please clarify...cuz that just sounds like a WW fight but with a weird stipulation in which there would be penalties for excess weight over 144...
The blogger's all wrote 144lbs because GBP stated that .... but no one read the actual contract. Not the Bloggers, not the media, definately not any fan ... but everyone was under the impression it was at 144.
This what happens when you got a bunch of non-journalist bloggers writing about ****, they know nothing about. A freakin blogger is as reliable as joe-blow.
Again - The lead Promoter always stated that this would be a WW fight. JMM chose to weigh in a 142lbs {No body forced him} because he fealt he would be better at that weight. Now, you got a flood of idiots posting this & that and they don't know jack-**** about anything. All they know is what some unreliable blogger wrote - and bloggers never investigate anything.
A BLOGGER IS NOT A JOURNALIST ..... A BLOGGER IS JOE-BLOW OFF THE STREET POSTING SECOND-HAND REPORTS. THEY ARE NOT INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISTS!!!!!!!!!
