At least first stop a Ring top 10 fighter before saying your fighter can KO the Ring #1 ranked 168 fighter. Morrell is looking like Rolly right now, all talk, nothing to back it up.

It has to be all for show, just clout chasing. That dude hasn’t shown anything yet.

Also, Ring has me confused. Idk how they ranked Morrell at #7? Which win did that for him? 6 fights, no notable wins, and he’s #7 at 168?

Boy, the days when fighters earned the #10 spot at 15-20 fights are gone. I think Mayweather ENTERED The Ring’s top 10 Super Featherweights after beating Tony Pep in his 17th fight. And that was only because Pep was a decent fighter with a massive size advantage. In fact, Mayweather invited Pep to become his sparring partner after that fight to prepare for the tall Genaro Hernandez.

Boxing is so watered down now. There isn’t another sport that gets more well deserved criticism than Boxing. Boxing is like that one brother who just can’t get his life together and is a total fck up and is still living in his parent’s home at age 30. And it just gets worse. At this pace it will be homeless.

Yes, enough jawing from both sides. Both fighters say they want it, both with PBC, neither got a next fight lined up. Just do it.

No reason not to make the fight but that being said Morrell should pick his battles wisely. Benavidez is on another level.

Not sure, maybe Morrell gets stopped, or they're both very tough and go twelve rounds, which I can see.

That guy De Cubas loves to run his mouth and rush his fighters into matches they’re not ready for. He just wants to make his money ASAP and dump his man if he loses. If he wins, so much the better. That’s the way I see it.

Morrell may not be ready to step up quite yet, but let’s please not compare him to Rolly. David is better in every way.

I am with DeCubas on this one. Morrell is very ready for Benavidez. Morrell has faced the better fighters if you look at his amateur career. I mean he had a close fight with 2 time Olympic Champ La Cruz at 175 and in my opinion won that fight WHILE he was ONLY 18 years old. Benavidez is an elite fighter but he doesn't present half the puzzle and mental concentration that la Sombra La Cruz does.

Benavidez was extremely sloppy when finishing a midget like Lemieux on the ropes but nobody talks about. Chin up in the air, gloves down, feet close together. He can't be throwing punches like that against Morrell either cause he'll get clobbered to the canvas

The classic greedy promoter comments…it’s one thing to say you haven’t fought anybody it’s another thing when nobody wants to fight you

And he's not the one getting punch on the face. Although he has a point when talking about experience. Still, I'd like for DMJ, to have a few fights more with the likes of ryder, plant or any other wily veteran.
