lets not judge by KO Ratio though because strange things have happened in the sport of boxing

I remember people laughing at Chris Algeri too going into that Ruslan Provodnikov fight too. Hopefully Vergil takes care of business and gets a big fight next

While Spence and Bud sort their situation out, I want to see the next Generation of Welterweights fight each other too

    Boots vs Speedy Rashidi
Vergil Ortiz vs Stanionis (incredible stylistic matchup)

This is a good fight for someone who had a long layoff, just to shed some perspective on Michael Mckinson he has a low knockout percentage however he seems to have knocked down 4 out 5 opponents in his latest bouts demonstrating he has sufficient power to keep enemies at bay.

Chris Kongo has beaten Sebastian Formella by decision who went the distance with Connor Benn and Shawn Porter.

Przemyslaw Runowski had beaten Samuel Vargas by decision at the very end of his career. However, this win demonstrates his on par with Benn's level of opposition at the moment.

Alex Martin was in a losing streak at welterweight until he moved down to Super featherweight to light welterweight, beating the likes of Luis Hernandez, Josec Ruiz and Angel Fierro.

So yeah, this is a step down compared to Mean Machine but it is a decent match up against a slick awkward southpaw, Vergil is coming back from an illness called rhabdomyolyses and has not fought for 11 months.

He will likely will also fight in November or December. Against who that is difficult to say although it be interesting if David Avanesyan tried to sign up for a fight at a later date against Ortiz.

Is Haymon willing to allow him to fight on DAZN? Doubt it. You think Boots isn't benifiting off his size too? Both guys are more suited at 154, of course coming from you, only one side gets the criticism. A loyal Haymon hoe to the end. You'd blow the man if he asked you.

2-3 rds at most. And thats only if Ortiz wants to get rounds in. Really a waste, Ortiz won't be bothered or learn anything from this. McKinson is #19 only.

147 is too deep to have these guys not fighting. Let get the following fights after Ortiz Destroys this guy. My wish for end of year.

              Spence vs Bud of course.

              Ortiz vs Ugas/Thurman/Porter
              Boots vs Thurman/Porter/Ugas
              Stanionis vs Crowley
              Benn vs Avanesyan
              Butaev vs Bes***** rematch
I forgot about Ellis so maybe him vs Lemos

Ortiz will not worry at all about what will be coming back at him. I agree with just about everyone here, this dude getting KO'd early. No more than 4 rounds.

I'm not one to denigrate a boxers low ko %, but Michael is clearly is comfortable with going the full six, eight, ten rounds of a fight which is not good if your facing a fast pressure power puncher like Virgil. The longer you're in there with Virgil the more chances you give him rip you to the head, body, or arms and Virgil is strong enough to hurt you even through your guard, just ask Maurice Hooker, I believe Virgil broke Maurice's elbow iirc

According to Rick Mirigian, they sent Avanesyan his contact, after all terms were agreed, and they just haven't heard back from them. So who knows? It's a weird one. We can only assume they have something else big up their sleeve.
