Also, I should have kept into account the big difference in physical structure. Only today I watched carefully the face to face picture at the weigh-in, Beterbiev is double-thicker than Smith Jr.

And I had missed Smith's confession about the Vlasov fight, which suggested mental weakness before such an important moment.
