Canelo wouldn`t have a great career in old times

In old times, Canelo would struggle to stay at 160, where he obviously has like zero great clear wins. he is too small for 175, 168 didn`t exist before 1984.

Canelo is typical the new era manufactured "elite" fighter. 168 was invented for fighters like him.

No hate. Facts man. There was a reason why Hopkins fought at 160 and 175 and he didn`t care about 168.

I think Canelo would do well as its really only technique that has beaten him, back in the day there were more opponents willing to stand in front and that plays to Canelos strengths.

He would never have even moved to 168 vs the previous generation.

            What the hell

At this point, you HAVE to be a parody account? I mean you’re a Canelo fanboy trying his best to make Canelo critics look like r/tards?

            This is unbelievable.

            Lmfao “old times”.

Man no one will be making the weight they make now in the “old times”. Nobody but HW’s.

One of Alvarez tricks has been to implement big weight cuts, and be the big man on fight night.

During the era's of same day weigh in's, he will be fighting fighters who all weigh close to his weight.

Alvarez endurance is not elite, over a 15 round fight I personally think he would suffer.

Alvarez would have to pick one division and stay there, it would most likely be 160 pounds.

I think Alvarez would be beaten by many fighters under those past conditions.

The thread starter is correct in saying, Alvarez is a bi-product of modern day boxing.

Fighters like Carl Froch, Joe Calzaghe, Floyd Mayweather Junior, Bernard Hopkins, are a bit different.

They could travel back in time, and still maintain their form. Because these training and lifestyles are pretty much based on old school training.

Mayweather, Froch or Hopkins never implemented big weight cuts etc.

But I suppose you are having Alvarez traveling back in time with all of his strength and conditioning coaches, supplements and sport science? Even still under same day weigh in's, the man is going to find things very difficult 'He is entering into a completely different world'.

he wouldnt have been top 10 p4p in a lot of eras. remember some list where you had mayweather, pacquiao. calzaghe, hopkins etc and someone like klitschko with all 4 belts was struggling to get in the top 10. a few years ago someone like canelo would have fought ward, lost every round and youd have never heard from again.
