Touted as something super special will only bite you a bit when you are found out IF you are humble. When you start talking like you are the second coming, a whole lot of folks are going to think you are a hamburger head. I would not waste Mayo on this dude at this stage!

Berlanga lost that fight and he knows it. His nose was bleeding most of the fight, eye was getting bruised up and you kept looking up at the clock during the fight because you were getting hit and you ate some uppercuts lol YOU LOST SIR

Goodness gracious…. This kid believes what he’s saying? Not only delusional, but sickeningly full of himself — hubris. When that hammer drops, it’s gonna be a very rude awakening.

I miss the seasons in New York... They are consistent, they are ever present... And so it is in boxing. A young ****er comes along... we watch, perhaps we hope... We just know this kid has the goods! lol.

Doesn't Bread use the expression that "boxing is a Truth machine?" Anything that is just not so... It will come out, people will be exposed, there will have to be talent, willfullness, discipline and Luck!

Berlanga is actually quite typical. I always want to see a Cuban/Puerto Rican guy succeed... growing up in East Harlem and all... But the differnce between another Puerto Rican with boxing skills, and middle weight success in professional prize fighting, is HUge!

What do you do with Berlanga now ? He does not have it and never will. Do you keep fighting fringe contenders,no hopers and rush him into the biggest money fight ASAP ? You now he is going to lose when he fights anyone in the top 10 so you might as well make a money grab as soon as you can.

Yessir, the truth will out. In Berlanga’s case, it seems to have happened rather early. And you’re right, his attitude is fairly common in boxing. It just galls me when it’s so obvious he’s talking out of his ass.

That is either a simple or incredibly complicated question: I had the pleasure of reading a great post on another thread from Roadblock about genetics... So i ask in that spirit: What is our capacity? What traits does a fighter, at the top of the food chain have? to bare upon when change is needed? Are we capable at that level of real sustained change? Because many times a fighter does a few things wonderfully and different for a few rounds, is succesful and then promptly falls back into the same habits...

What can Edgar do? I guess we will find out.
